Here are the assignments our class will be completing during the week of April 20, 2009-April 24,2009.The worksheet can be found by clicking on them according to the day they are presented and they will show up in a different window. Monday:
  1. First complete Definition Match worksheet individually
  2. We will discuss your results with the whole class and find out the correct answers
  3. After the discussion, I will hand out and you are to complete Solar System Position worksheet individually
  4. After completing the second worksheet, I will pair up to the person next to you and chose a topic in the Solar System. ( for example...the Sun, Milky Way Galaxy, Venus, Earth) Do not have the same topic as another group.
  5. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the pairs will be adding their topic onto a single PowerPoint slide to made a class Solar System Glossary. Each pair must include a title, their names, a graphic, and correct information on the slide.

Tuesday: (50 min total)
  1. I will explain the objectives for the travel brochure of the Solar System due on Friday (15 min)
  2. Pair by pair I will have students add their glossary page to the PowerPoint
  3. While students are waiting, we will watch The Planets video playing (25 min)
  4. Groups come up one at a time to my desk to tell me their Solar System destination for the brochure

Wednesday: (50 min total)
  1. Pair by pair students will add their glossary page to the PowerPoint
  2. Students will use this day to work in their groups to research their destinations using their textbooks, the Solar System book, and Classification of the Solar System.
  3. Students should be done adding their pages to the glossary by the end of class.

Thursday: (50 min total) (35 min at the computer lab)
  1. At the beginning of class I will ask the group for some preliminary information on their chosen destination for the brochure. (10 min)
  2. We will walk to the computer lab after everyone presents what they have so far.(5 min)
  3. The rest of the class time will be spent doing more research and completing the Solar System brochures.

Friday: (50 min total)
  1. Each group will present their brochure one at a time to the class.
  2. Special surprise at the end of class; class will vote on the brochure they like the most and that group will receive 3 extra points.
